For my magazine, the genre I have chosen is dance/electronic. This is because I wanted to do something different. Something that a niche audience would like. I also want to challenge myself by doing this genre and not just genre of music that I like. I do listen to some artists that make dance genre music such as David Guetta and Calvin Harris etc. Dance music are mostly made by DJs and feature singers. For example, 'Blame' by calvin harris Ft John Newman. Calvin being the DJ and John the singer. The term 'electronic dance music' was used in the U.S. in 1985 and the term got popular in the 1990s. This genre of music are mainly played in clubs, festivals or parties as they should make you want to dance. People in the 2000s listened to electronic dance music at underground parties and festivals. The dance genre is getting popular as famous DJs are collaborating with popular singers. They have a good, loud beat which gets listeners coming back for more as it's catchy. Sometimes genres may crossover with electronic dance as the singers may be RnB or pop collaborating with the dance genre DJs
